#1 Tigers manager Jim Leyland ejected

Tigers manager Jim Leyland got the fireworks started early, uncorking one the best rants of his long career as a prelude to another eighth-inning uprising by the Tigers, who beat the Blue Jays, 4-2, and stayed atop the American League Central, one game ahead of the Indians.

“That was impressive,” Don Kelly said.

Said starting pitcher Max Scherzer, “We all had a nice little chuckle in the clubhouse — good ole Skip, giving his best to the umpires. But he had to do what he had to do.”
