Filppula Will Miss Game

According to the Detroit Free Press, Valtteri Filppula will miss at least one game. The Wings Finnish forward was injured early in the third period of last night’s win over the Rangers when Brandon Dubinsky accidentally hit him knee-on-knee.

The Wings will not yet call anyone up, and wait to see if Tomas Holmstrom can play on Wednesday night. If he can’t, and if Jan Mursak’s swollen toe (from a Shea Weber slap shot) isn’t better, then they may have to dip back into the reserves in Grand Rapids – likely Tomas Tatar.
