St. Louis Blues (6-1-0, 12 pts) at Detroit Red Wings (3-2-1, 7 pts)
Where/Time: Joe Louis Arena, Detroit, MI — 7:30 pm ET
TV/Radio: NHL Network-US, FS-Detroit / AM 1270 The Ticket
The Red Wings are out to prove that their 6-0 opening night spanking by the Blues was just a fluke. Detroit has a point in each of their last 3 games, going 2-0-1 over the past week. Mike Babcock won’t make any lineup changes for tonight’s game. Ian White (leg) and Carlo Colaiacovo (shoulder) skated but will not suit up, while Darren Helm (back), Jonas Gustavsson (groin) , and Mikael Samuelsson (groin) didn’t skate and won’t play tonight. Captain Henrik Zetterberg is also battling a flu bug. He had a fever and sore throat the past few days, but is expected to play.
Detroit will need a boost from the home crowd, and play physical with the Blues. The Red Wings also are in desperate need of a good start. They are the only team in the NHL without a 1st period goal so far this season.
