DETROIT, Michigan —
According to a Sports Illustrated story dated yesterday, a report has come out that links Tigers SS Jhonny Peralta to Tony Bosch, a man being currently being investigated by Major League Baseball for giving out performance enhancing drugs. So far, Peralta is the 12th MLB player to have come up in Bosch’s notes. Jhonny Peralta has released the following statement through his attorney, Barry Boss: “I have never used performance enhancing drugs. Period. Anybody who says otherwise is lying.”
The Tigers and GM Dave Dombrowski have been made aware of the situation, and released the following statement last evening : “The Detroit Tigers fully support Major League Baseball’s Joint Drug Prevention and Treatment Program. We are aware of this report however since this matter is currently part of an investigation by Major League Baseball, the Club is not at liberty to comment.”
The Tigers SS has reportedly lost 18 pounds this offseason, in hopes it will make him move quicker to the ball. He had been the subject of many trade rumors, but Detroit elected to keep him as their primary shortstop. We’ll keep you up to date with any breaking news regarding this story.

V-Mart is already down in Lakeland and is beyond ready to begin the season. This is outstanding news for the Tigers, as they missed his offensive production last season.
