Zetterberg to Miss Divisional Showdown?

The early news about leading scorer and assistant captain Henrik Zetterberg’s injury isn’t great. He will likely miss the season ending home and home series with the Chicago Blackhawks.

After the game, coach Babcock said that Zetterberg, who was injured in a collision with Carolina defenseman Bryan Allen, will be evaluated by team doctors on Thursday. He added that as a precaution, Zetterberg will likely not take part in the season’s final two games.

As Zetterberg is one of the team’s most important pieces if they hope to accomplish anything in the playoffs, I say he takes all the time he needs. The Wings had 2 healthy scratches tonight, so there’s no sense in rushing him into playing when they really don’t need to. Let Hudler and Miller get some more games in, and see if he’s ready to go for Game 1 of the first round.
