It didn’t take long for the Detroit Lions to lose one of their key pieces in their first preseason game. Defensive end Kerry Hyder went down with a leg injury and never returned to action.

After the game, head coach Jim Caldwell addressed the media to update them on Hyder’s condition, calling it a “significant achilles” injury.

That does not look good for the Lions defensive front, a front which already had a tough time staying healthy last season and during training camp. Here’s to wishing Kerry a speedy recovery through the process.
