With a tough task on their hands today against the Los Angeles Rams, the Lions are going to take on that task without one of their best inside offensive linemen. Larry Warford (hip) will sit today’s game out. Rookie Graham Glasgow will likely get the start in his place.
Also inactive today is rookie running back Dwayne Washington, who is battling an ankle injury. With Theo Riddick also missing today’s game (which was announced earlier this week), the only healthy running backs the team will bring into the contest are Zach Zenner and newcomer Justin Forsett. This will be the second consecutive week that Detroit has brought only two healthy running backs into their game. With just the two natural running backs in the game, it wouldn’t be too surprising to see wide receiver Golden Tate get some reps in the running game. He had three carries last weekend.
Also inactive for the Lions today are linebacker DeAndre Levy (quad/knee), defensive tackle Haloti Ngata (shoulder), tight end Eric Ebron (ankle/knee), and cornerback Adairius Barnes.
Making his return today will be defensive end Ziggy Ansah, who missed the previous three games while nursing an ankle injury. With all the holes in today’s Lions lineup, it will be a breath of fresh air to see a familiar face in Ansah as he (hopefully) makes a triumphant return.
What do you think, Nation? With a large number of starters missing today’s game, and a new veteran running back in Forsett making his team debut, will the Lions have enough in the tank to pull out a victory against the Rams?
