The Detroit Pistons announced that Jodie Meeks will miss two months due to a stress reaction in his lower back. A release by the team said that the injury was found in a CT scan on Monday.
Meeks was signed to a 3-year $19 million deal this offseason and it’s another blow to the Pistons on the injury front. Kentavious Caldwell-Pope is out indefinitely due to a left knee sprain. With KCP out indefinitely and Meeks out for two months, expect another free agent signee Cartier Martin to get some playing time at the 2-guard.
Meeks averaged 15.6 points on 40.1% shooting from deep last season with the Los Angeles Lakers. He was going to come in and provide 3-point shooting, but now the team will have to wait until he’s recovered from his back injury.
