The Detroit Red Wings recalled forward Mitch Callahan from the Grand Rapids Griffins on Wednesday.

Callahan will likely replace forward Steve Ott in the lineup. Ott was traded to the Montreal Canadiens Tuesday for a sixth-round pick.

In 53 games for the Griffins this season, Callahan has 14 goals and 22 assists. He was drafted by the Red Wings in the sixth-round of the 2009 NHL Entry Draft and has only appeared in one NHL game for the Wings.

If the Wings make more moves before the 3 p.m. trade deadline on Wednesday, there will likely be more call-ups. Stay tuned.
