It was 20 years ago late last month that the infamous “Fight Night at the Joe” took place between the Detroit Red Wings and Colorado Avalanche. The rivalry was in its heyday, and every game between the two was must-see TV.

On April 1, 1998, just over a year after the legendary brawl, Avalanche goaltender decided to try his luck fighting Mike Vernon’s successor Chris Osgood. It went just as well for Roy as it did the first time – which isn’t a good thing for him. Roy lost a fight to a smaller Detroit goaltender yet again.
