The OJHL grad has committed to Clarkson Univesity, giving the Wings another project on the backend with some serious size. This is the third time in recent years the Wings have tapped Clarkson in the draft.
Toronto prep teams churn out a lot of quality NHLers.
De Haas led his team in scoring from the blue line with 29 points in 45 games.
He was listed on NHL.com’s Players to Watch list, and was ranked 176th by Central Scouting.
