The Red Wings had an excellent 2011 draft crop, which included three picks in the first round and nine overall. Highlighting the Wings 2011 draft class is big, skilled winger Tomas Jurco. Read my scouting report on Jurco from the draft here. Tomas Jurco 6’2″, 193 Jurco put up 56 points in 60 regular season games for the Saint John Sea Dogs of the QMJHL in 2010-2011, improving on his 51 in 64 totals from the year before. He also upped his playoff production to 18 points in 19 games, from 17 in 21 the year before. Jurco and the Sea Dogs captured the Memorial Cup as champions of the Canadian Hockey League, and are among the favorites to hoist the trophy this year. Jurco is playing ...
