It was announced Sunday afternoon that Michigan junior G Caris LeVert will miss the rest of the season after re-injuring his surgically repaired left foot in Saturday night’s 56-54 win over Northwestern at Crisler Center.
It was a win Michigan needed to keep pace in the B1G title race, but the win proved costly, as LeVert is the Wolverines’ leading scorer at 14.9 points per game, and he’s a leader on this team. For a Michigan team that’s struggling to get off the ground, losing LeVert right now is a big blow. They’ll need guys like Zak Irvin, Spike Albrecht, and Derrick Walton Jr. to step up and replace LeVert’s production.
Michigan is currently sitting in 3rd place in the conference with a 4-2 B1G record with an upcoming matchup with Wisconsin looming.
