The Detroit Red Wings have been busy so far at the trade deadline trading away Tomas Jurco, Brendan Smith and Steve Ott. That doesn’t seem to matter to forward Justin Abdelkader.
Detroit, playing in their first game after their “bye week” Tuesday night, defeated the Vancouver Canucks 3-2 in overtime. Abdelkader scored the game-winner with 2:29 remaining in the extra frame. Watch as Abdelkader takes a nice pass from captain Henrik Zetterberg and is able to chip the puck in, beating goaltender Ryan Miller.

The goal was Abdelkader’s first in 23 games. In 43 games this season, he has five goals and 14 total points.
