Hockey players are some of the easiest athletes to relate to, and they often times show us a more human side to athletics. That was on display on Tuesday night as the Edmonton Oilers were in St. Louis to play the Blues. Edmonton forward Patrick Maroon is from St. Louis, and his family still lives there.
In the 3rd period of last night’s contest, Maroon scored a beautiful tip-in goal and saw his son in the stands leap for joy. In the post-game interview, Maroon got a little emotional watching his son celebrate the goal. It was a pretty cool moment, especially with Christmas right around the corner.
Way to go, Patrick!
