Lions GM Bob Quinn has been assiduously working on unearthing some draft day steals from smaller colleges, outside of the familiar NFL breeding grounds. Below is a list of potential sleepers that the Lions could select on draft day.[/tps_header]

 

[tps_title]1. Kevin Byard, S, Middle Tennessee State[/tps_title]

  • Height: 5-foot-11
  • Weight: 216-pounds
  • 40-yard: 4.49-seconds (Pro-day)
  • Proj. round: 5-6
  • Analysis: Byard was considered a combine snub this year. He talked with the Lions after he performed admirably at his pro-day with a 38-inch vertical and 22 reps on the bench. The ball-hawking safeties game film may even be more impressive than his workout numbers. Albeit against lesser competition, Byard built quite the highlight reel. Watch below:
