The Michigan Wolverines are once again left licking their wounds after losing to the Ohio State Buckeyes, doing so in monumental fashion on Saturday afternoon. Ohio State defeated Michigan by a 62-39 final score to earn a berth to the Big Ten title game Saturday in Indianapolis.
Meanwhile, the Wolverines have not-surprisingly fallen in the polls.

They fell four spots and are now ranked number eight by the Associated Press Top 25 and the Amway Coaches Poll, and will await a bowl invite. This would likely happen sometime next week.
The final College Football Playoff poll will be released on Tuesday night. Georgia and Oklahoma moved up to spots four and five, while the top three (Alabama, Clemson, and Notre Dame) remain unchanged.
Despite clinching a share of the Big Ten East crown, the Wolverines still haven’t gotten to the College Football Playoff or qualified for a league title game during head coach Jim Harbaugh’s tenure at Michigan. Saturday also marked Harbaugh’s fourth consecutive loss to the Buckeyes.

Lions decide to cut veteran safety shortly after bringing him back
The Detroit Lions have made a couple of roster moves following another disappointing showing Thursday afternoon in their annual Thanksgiving game.

Safety Don Carey was waived Friday in order to make room for cornerback Marcus Cooper. Carey had just played 18 special teams snaps against the Bears Thursday. His return to the Lions didn’t last very long, as he was just brought back by the team earlier this week. He had also spent time with Jacksonville this season without appearing in a game.
Cooper is a 7th round selection by the 49ers in 2013, but made a name for himself playing with the Kansas City Chiefs. His best season came while a member of the Arizona Cardinals, where he put up 69 tackles, 11 passes defended and four interceptions.
