October 31st does not only mark one of best days of the year for kids looking to obtain and consume as much free candy as humanly possible, but it also marks the 2017 National Football League trade deadline.
With the Detroit Lions currently sitting at 3-3, they are clearly on the bubble when it comes to making the NFL Playoffs and to get over the hump, they should strongly consider making a trade.
According to Spotrac.com, two Lions are good candidates to be traded before the Halloween trade deadline.
Theo Riddick
After back-to-back strong seasons in Detroit, Riddick has seemingly fallen out of favor with the current offensive system in place. Still a vital weapon in the passing game, the Lions may deem him too useful to move on from (yet). Doing so would leave behind dead cap hits of around $1.8M in 2017, and $1.925M in 2018. But would clear cap ($600,000, $1.9625M) in both cases.
Eric Ebron
Ebron showed promise of a breakout in 2016, but has done little to build upon that thus far in 2017. Trading him would leave around $3M in dead cap to the Lions in 2017, with around $840,000 heading to the new team. His $5.194M 5th-year option doesn’t guarantee until the 1st league day of 2018.
Most Lions fans would love to see Ebron moved before the trade deadline but Riddick is a different story. Rather than dealing Riddick, Lions offensive coordinator, Jim Bob Cooter should be doing whatever he can to get the shifty running back the football.

Not only did the Detroit Lions get destroyed by the New Orleans Saints in Week 6, but they also had a couple of injuries along the way, including one to their leading receiver, Golden Tate.
Last Monday, Ian Rapoport broke the news that Tate is expected to likely to miss a few weeks after injuring his shoulder against the Saints.
Now the question is, what will the Lions do to replace Tate while he is getting healthy? Would a healthy Kenny Golladay be enough to fill the shoes of the speedy veteran? Probably not, which means Lions general manager Bob Quinn could be forced to get creative.
