Four NFL teams are still in the mix for the Super Bowl, but for the remaining teams in the league, including the Detroit Lions, it’s time to start looking towards free agency and the 2017 NFL Draft.
The Lions will have their fair share of free agents this offseason and according to ESPN (pay site), three of them rank in the top 50 in the NFL.
ESPN’s John Clayton has compiled a list of the top 50 NFL free agents and OG Larry Warford, OT Riley Reiff, and DE Devin Taylor are ranked in the top 50 with Warford coming in at No. 29, Reiff making the list at No. 30, and Taylor coming in at No. 42.
Here is what Clayton had to say about Warford, Reiff, and Taylor.
“Warford is a sleeper among the guards. Although his name might not be on everybody’s radar, he has 57 starts and is a solid blocker.”
“Reiff might not have lived up to his billing as a former first-round pick, but he offers a team the flexibility of using him at left or right tackle.”
“Taylor had seven sacks as an inside pass-rusher in 2015 and did well as a starter last season.”
What do you think, Nation? Should the Lions GM Bob Quinn pony up and bring back either Warford, Reiff, or Taylor?
