Red Wings Take Larkin 15th In ’14 Draft

With their first pick in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft, 15th overall, the Detroit Red Wings drafted Dylan Larkin out of the USNTDP.

Larkin is a lefty out of Waterford, Michigan. In his last season, the 6’0″, 192 lb center put up 31 goals and 25 assists, good for 56 points in 60 games. He was an assistant captain of the gold medal winning U.S. team at the 2014 U-18 world championship. Being from Michigan, he grew up watching the Red Wings, and was very adamant about wanting to be drafted by Detroit. He’s a good two-way center, and should mesh nicely into Detroit’s puck-possession system after his time at U of M and, more than likely, the Griffins.

Keep your eye on us through the weekend for more draft coverage.
