2016 Conference Preview: SEC

The Alabama Crimson Tide returned to the top of the college football world in 2015 as they returned to the College Football Playoff where they defeated Big Ten champion Michigan State in the National Semifinal and an undefeated Clemson team to claim head coach Nick Saban his fifth national title (fourth at Alabama).

Although none of that may have happened if not for an improbable win by the Arkansas Razorbacks over the Ole Miss Rebels on November 7th of last season. The Razorbacks completed a wild lateral play on 4th and 25 in overtime to keep the game alive and ultimately win the game 53-52. The loss by Ole Miss, who was the only blemish on the Crimson Tide’s schedule, knocked the Rebels from the top spot in the SEC West.

That game just goes to show that every game truly matters in the race for the College Football Playoff. So which teams will compete for the SEC Championship this season? Check out DSN’s 2016 SEC Preview.
