It has been a crazy offseason! From the free agency period, to the NFL Draft, to positive COVID-19 tests at training camp, it is crazy to think that we are less than a week away from the first Detroit Lions game of the 2020 season.

Though I do not believe Bob Quinn did enough to address the defense, it will be improved in 2020. That, coupled with a Matthew Stafford led offense that will be one of the top 5 units in the league, will be enough for the Lions to contend in 2020.
Here are my final 2020 Detroit Lions game-by-game predictions of the offseason. It is going to be a fun year!
Week 1 vs. Bears
Prediction: Mitchell Trubisky will be the starter for the Bears and that is good news and bad news for the Lions. Trubisky is one of the worst starting quarterbacks on the planet (all levels included) but he has owned the Detroit Lions. That being said, I truly believe this is THE most important game of the season and the Lions will win. LIONS 27 BEARS 20
Week 2 at Packers
Prediction: Let me begin by saying that I hate the Packers. Aaron Rodgers helped lead the Pack to a great record in 2019 but in my opinion, that was fool’s gold, as they proved in the playoffs. This will be an extremely close game but Green Bay will win it on the final play of the game. PACKERS 27 LIONS 24
Week 3 at Cardinals
Prediction:Â The Cardinals are an up and coming team and for some reason, the Lions do not know how to win in the desert. Until now. LIONS 31 CARDINALS 23
Week 4 vs. Saints
Prediction:Â The New Orleans Saints are Super Bowl contenders and Drew Brees is still one of the better QBs in the NFL. This one will be a little too much for the Lions to handle. SAINTS 30 LIONS 23
Week 5 BYE WEEK

Week 6 at Jaguars
Prediction: Coming off a bye week, the Lions will dominate from the opening kickoff. The end. LIONS 38 JAGUARS 17
Week 7 at Falcons
Prediction:Â A year ago, I said the Falcons would make some noise and make a run in the playoffs. I was wrong. Well, I think the Falcons will be a solid team and they will get the best of the Lions on their home turf in the ATL. FALCONS 30 LIONS 23
Week 8 vs. Colts
Prediction:Â A lot of people are very high on the Colts but I am not. The Lions offense will be too much for the Colts defense to handle. LIONS 31 COLTS 24
Week 9 at Vikings
Prediction:Â This will be the toughest game of the season for the Lions as they always struggle to win in Minnesota. The Lions will end up getting the last laugh but it will not come until later in the season. VIKINGS 34 LIONS 24
Week 10 vs. Washington Football Team
Prediction:Â The Washington Football Team will already be playing for a draft pick at this point. LIONS 34 WFT 17
Week 11 at Panthers
Prediction:Â The Panthers will be awful in 2020 and this very well could be a trap game for the Lions with Thanksgiving Day coming up. That being said, the Lions win on a last-second FG from Matt Prater. LIONS 20 PANTHERS 17
Week 12 (Thanksgiving Day) vs. Texans
Prediction:Â The Texans may have signed Deshaun Watson to a mega-contract but he lost his best offensive weapon, WR DeAndre Hopkins. The Lions will be hyped and if there are fans at Ford Field by this game, it will be the loudest it has EVER been. LIONS 24 TEXANS 20
Week 13 at Bears
Prediction:Â This could be a tough one because it will be played in Chicago but the Lions will be rolling at this point and the Bears will not be able to catch them. LIONS 26 BEARS 20
Week 14 vs. Packers
Prediction:Â Revenge time! The Lions will take Aaron Rodgers to the woodshed and by the time he comes out, he will want to retire. LIONS 34 PACKERS 24
Week 15 at Titans
Prediction:Â This may be the second-toughest game on the Lions schedule as they hit the road to take on a solid Titans team. The winning streak ends but it will be close. TITANS 23 LIONS 20
Week 16 vs. Buccaneers
Prediction:Â Could this be a preview of the NFC Championship Game? Tom Brady has so many weapons on offense and they will be too much for the Lions defense to handle. BUCS 34 LIONS 27
Week 17 vs. Vikings
Prediction:Â As I teased earlier, the Lions will get the final laugh and they will take down the Vikings at Ford Field in a game that will determine the NFC North champion. Lions win. LIONS 24 VIKINGS 20
FINAL REGULAR SEASON RECORD: 10-6 *NFC NORTH CHAMPIONS
