The right-handed pitcher is currently the third best prospect in the Tigers farm system according to the Free Press.

At just 21, Perez is thought to be a pitcher with a bright future in Detroit, but injuries have plagued him recently. Perez started the spring with the big club, but a shoulder trapezius spasm took him out of action early in spring training.
Now it appears as if that minor set-back indicates something more serious. Last year, Perez missed a majority of the season with a right lat strain and shoulder inflammation.

You may remember that Perez was the primary piece for Detroit from the Justin Verlander trade. Hopefully, Perez can battle back from this early injury bug, but Tigers fans are understandably nervous.
