There are things to be encouraged and excited about regarding the Lions after posting a 2-1-1 record heading into their Monday Night Football matchup against the Green Bay Packers, and about one player in particular.

“I feel good, feel good about the team,” Sanders said. “I think we’ve seen some really positive signs so far this season. All of us fans are excited about this coming game, a Monday night game in the division. I mean, this is what you live for as a player. This year, we’ve seen some really good signs. That excitement is warranted — this game is going to tell a lot about that.”

Running back Kerryon Johnson was singled out by Sanders for some nice praise after recording 74 carries for 251 yards and one touchdown through four weeks.

“I think he’s progressing as a young running back, I think he’s melded nicely into the offense,” Sanders said. “He’s been there when Matt (Stafford) and the offense has needed him.”

Of course, Sanders doesn’t exactly have pleasant memories of playing at Lambeau Field. They didn’t win a single game in the frozen tundra from 1991 until finally breaking the streak in 2015.

“Not a lot of good memories,” Sanders said. “Really just driving in, driving into the game. The hope and anticipation of a win was probably all the positive memories I have of Lambeau.”
