The Penn State Nittany Lions came out of the gate swinging on Saturday against the Michigan Wolverines, and then withstood a comeback effort in the second half to earn a hard-fought 28-21 win.
After the game, Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh wasn’t exactly complimentary to the evening’s officiating crew, saying that it would be “interesting comparing some of the different scenarios in the game in terms of calls” and lamenting the lack of calls in his team’s favor.
Penn State head coach James Franklin responded on Tuesday, and took a few not-so-subtle jabs at Harbaugh. Take a look at his comments:
“The thing I’m not going to do, is I’m not going to come in here and, after a game, talk about penalties and the impact that they have on a game,” Franklin said. “The officials have a very tough job to do. Each week, there’s going to be calls our opponent doesn’t like and there’s going to be calls that we don’t like. I’m going to handle it through the process that the Big Ten has to be able to communicate one-on-one.”

“But I’m not going to come into a press conference — I haven’t really done that in six years,” he continued. “I’m going to try to avoid doing that and be respectful of the process and of the officials. But also, I think it sends the wrong message to my team. I’m not going to come in and talk about calls or officials.”
Talk about throwing shade without mentioning any names!
