The Detroit Lions raised more than a few eyebrows with their midseason trade of Quandre Diggs to the Seattle Seahawks in exchange for a mere fifth round draft pick. The move caused tension in the locker room as players voiced their displeasure over the move.
But could a series of moves in the offseason have the opposite effect?
Two players who would soon become available are Odell Beckham Jr. and Le’Veon Bell.
For Bell, he has Michigan ties having attended Michigan State University, and he’s been linked to the Lions in the past.
The New York Daily News reports:
“The Jets will be amenable to trading Bell again this offseason, according to sources. (They’ll have to absorb part of the money owed to the player to have any realistic chance of moving him).”
Additionally, former New York Giant and current Cleveland Browns wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. didn’t exactly sound committed to Cleveland when he met with reporters on Thursday.
Odell: “What’s the future hold? I don’t know that. I don’t know the answers for that. Right now I’m just taking it a day at a time, trying to finish the season healthy, trying to win these last four games and see what happens.” pic.twitter.com/HapVzmPQby

A stop in Detroit could help Beckham come full circle, as he thought that he’d be drafted by the team in 2014. His former Giants teammate Damon “Snacks” Harrison has also tried recruiting him to Detroit in the past!
Would either of these players be a good fit for the Lions to potentially consider going after?
