On Monday morning, news broke that University of Michigan head coach John Beilein was leaving the Wolverines and taking over as head coach of the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Though were are all still in shock, it is time to look to the future. Specifically, who will Michigan hire to replace Beilein as head coach?
Here are 3 candidates we think will be in contention to land the gig.
LaVall Jordan

LaVell Jordan will certainly be considered one of the favorites to become the next head coach of the Michigan Wolverines.
Jordan played his college ball at Butler before starting his coaching career in 2003.
In 2010, Jordan was hired by Beilein to be an assistant and he was a big part of the Wolverines staff through the 2015-2016 season before being hired as head coach at Milwaukee.
In 2017, Jordan accepted an offer to become head coach at Butler. Over the past two seasons with the Bulldogs, he has compiled a 37-31 record, including a 101-93 win over then No. 1 Villanova.
Juwan Howard

Fans know Juwan Howard as one of the members of Michigan’s Fab Five but since retiring from the NBA, he has been coaching and he is currently an assistant coach with the Miami Heat.
Personally, I think Howard would be more of a long-shot to land the Michigan job, but at the same time, I would not be surprised.
Luke Yaklich

John Beilein has always been known for his amazing offensive mind but what really pushed the Wolverines over the top is when Beilein brought in Luke Yaklich to orchestrate the defense.
Yaklich, who is currently an assistant coach with the Wolverines, will certainly be in the conversation to become the next head basketball coach at Michigan.
Prior to joining the Wolverines’ coaching staff, Yaklich spent time at his Alma Mater, Illinois State, where he coached under Dan Muller.
