3 Detroit Lions who could be traded today

After losing to the Seattle Seahawks this past Sunday, the Detroit Lions are now 3-4 but still within striking distance in the NFC North.

But there is one big problem. The Lions do not have a roster that is ready to contend for a Super Bowl and that is all that really matters. Sure, they have quality players in Matthew Stafford, Marvin Jones, Golden Tate, Kenny Golladay, Kerryon Johnson, Damon Harrison, and Darius Slay, but that is not enough.

Moving forward, Lions general manager Bob Quinn has some very important decisions to make. One of those decisions may involve making a move prior to 4 p.m. today.

So, here are three current Detroit Lions who could be dealt before Halloween.

Golden Tate

Let's start by upsetting the majority of Lions' fans.

Golden Tate is one shiftiest wide receivers in the NFL and he has been for some time now. When he catches a pass, there is always a chance he makes something out of nothing and scores. He is the king of YAC (yards after catch) and is extremely valuable to the Lions offense.

That being said, Tate is in the final year of his contract and he will be 31 by the time the 2019 season kicks off. In order for him to remain in the Motor City, the Detroit Lions will have to pay a steep price for an aging wide receiver and that may not be the best decision.

When it comes to the Detroit Lions running back stable, Ameer Abdullah has been on the outside looking in for some time now.

With Kerryon Johnson proving he is the real deal, Abdullah has been a name that has often been mentioned as being on the chopping block.

Though the Lions would not get much in return, they should be more than willing to unload Abdullah to the highest bidder. If there are no takers, it is highly unlikely that the former 2nd round pick, who is in the final year of his contract, is wearing a Lions uniform a year from now.

A'Shawn Robinson

One week ago, this was not a player who would have been mentioned as a tradable player for the Detroit Lions. But a week ago, the Lions did not have Damon “Snacks” Harrison on their roster.

Prior to the trade for Harrison, Robinson was fourth in total snaps among Lions' defensive linemen (2nd among DTs) and that is without Ziggy Ansah in the mix. On Sunday against he Seahawks, Robinson was on the field for just 25% of the Lions defensive snaps.

With Matt Patricia liking to move guys around, along with the addition of Harrison, Robinson is now the No. 3 DT on a team that often only plays 1 DT.

Though I would be surprised if Robinson was traded, he is certainly a possibility.
