Matthew Stafford has a fractured back and he will miss his second straight game this coming Sunday when the Detroit Lions take on the Dallas Cowboys.
As we speak, the Lions only have two quarterbacks (other than Stafford) on their roster, which means they may look to sign another.

Quarterback Jeff Driskel will likely continue to start, but the Lions will still need some depth. Driskel filled in for Stafford on Sunday against the Bears as he completed 27 of 47 passes for 269 yards and touchdown.
That being said, if Stafford misses extended time, the Lions are likely to sign a free-agent quarterback, perhaps as early as today, though Driskel would still be the starter.
Here are three quarterbacks the Lions could consider signing.
Tyree Jackson

Tyree Jackson, who went undrafted in 2019 following his final season at Buffalo, is a player who I wanted to spend a late-round draft pick on. He is currently listed as the quarterback of the DC Defenders of the XFL.
Landry Jones

Jones would be an interesting option as he has some NFL experience (19 games/5 starts) under his belt. In his career, Jones has completed 63.9% of his passes for 1,310 yards and eight touchdowns to go along with seven interceptions. Jones worked out for the Lions back in August so there is some interest there.
Josh Jackson

Josh Jackson is a candidate to sign because he was on the team before the Lions signed current backup Jeff Driskel. In 3 preseason games with the Lions, Jackson completed 23 of 43 passes for 313 yards and one touchdown to go along with an interception.
