Heading into the 2019 season, many believed the Detroit Lions would be more likely to contend for a top 5 draft pick than a spot in the NFL Playoffs.
Despite a tough early-season schedule, the Lions are off to a 2-2-1 start and they are looking like a team that could make a run at a playoff spot in the NFC, though that task just became much more difficult following their 23-22 loss to the Packers on Monday Night Football.

That being said, just getting to the playoffs is never the goal and you can bet the Lions have their sights set higher.
Up next for the Lions is another NFC North showdown against the Minnesota Vikings. If they can handle their business against the Vikings to move to 3-2-1 you can bet the Lions will look to be buyers before the October 29th NFL trade deadline.

Chris Harris (CB) – Denver Broncos

Up to this point, the Detroit Lions secondary has been pretty solid but when it comes down to it, they could really use another cornerback to complement Darius Slay.
One player who should be available is Denver Broncos corner, Chris Harris. There is no doubt about it that Harris wants out of Denver as soon as possible and John Elway will likely part with him if the price is right.
Harris is 30, and he will be a free agent at the end of the season, which means he could be a rental player for the Lions if they decide to trade for him.
Emmanuel Sanders (WR) – Denver Broncos

As I have said for months (and got killed for it) the Detroit Lions do not have the depth they need at the wide receiver position. I have already been proven correct as Danny Amendola already missed a game (as predicted) with an injury.
In order for the Lions offense to really click, Matthew Stafford needs weapons and Emmanuel Sanders could help the cause.
If the Lions decide to add a WR before the deadline, you can bet Sanders would be near the top of their list. That, and he would likely come pretty darn cheap if the Broncos are looking to unload.
Trent Williams (LT) – Washington Redskins

I know, the Washington Redskins have made it clear that they are not trading LT Trent Williams. That being said, if they continue to lose, I would imagine Redskins’ owner Dan Snyder will step in and listen to offers for Williams.
The Lions offensive line has held up for the most part up to this point but if they had the chance to add a guy like Trent Williams, they had better not pass it up.
Williams would certainly cost a pretty penny but if the Lions truly believe they are a playoff team, he is a player they have to add.uire
