3 Players the Detroit Lions should target in second wave of free agency

The 2019 NFL Draft is officially in the books and the Detroit Lions made some picks that may not have been the most popular at the time but they definitely filled needs.

That being said, the second wave of free agency is now upon us and you can bet that Lions’ GM Bob Quinn will be looking for another player or two.

Here are three current free agents Quinn should consider signing before the 2019 season begins.

Muhammed Wilkerson (DE)

Wilkerson is coming off an injury and based on what his former team did in the 2019 NFL Draft, the writing seems to be on the wall that he will not be re-signed.

He has the ability to play on the end in a 3-4 and could be a possible addition to what should be a solid Lions’ defensive end.

Andy Levitre (G)

Heading into the NFL Draft, many believed that the Lions would select a guard at some point in the early rounds. As we now know, that did not happen and either Quinn is happy with his current offensive line or he is planning on inking a guard before the 2019 season kicks off.

Before dealing with injuries, Andy Levitre was one of the better guards in the NFL. In fact, he has started in each of the 143 games he has played in during his 10-year career.

Ezekiel Ansah (DE)

Whoa! I bet you did not expect to see Ezekiel Ansah on this list but he could certainly be an option for the Lions if he does not sign elsewhere.

Ansah, as we all know, has the ability to rush the passer IF HE CAN JUST STAY HEALTHY!!!

If the former Lion is willing to take a 1-year deal on the cheap, he could be back in the Honolulu blue in 2019.
