3 wide receivers the Detroit Lions MUST consider trading for immediately

Trainwreck.

That is the first word that comes to my mind when thinking about the Detroit Lions current wide receiver situation. With leading receiver Golden Tate expected to miss multiple weeks with a shoulder injury and rookie wideout Kenny Golladay attempting to get back into action after missing time, the Lions need to make a move and the need to make that move NOW!

With the Oct. 31 NFL trade deadline coming fast, general manager Bob Quinn has to make a trade to improve the Lions receiver situation immediately or risk everything by standing pat.

Here are three wide receivers who Quinn MUST consider trading for.

Martavis Bryant – Pittsburgh Steelers

If you have been following the NFL news even a little bit, you have probably heard that Martavis Bryant is not happy with his current situation in Pittsburgh and it is obvious he would prefer to be traded. Now, the Steelers have said publically that Bryant is not available to be traded but anyone with a brain knows they would part ways with him for the right return.

Would Bryant be a potential problem for the Lions in the locker room and off-the-field? Of course. But his physical talents on the field are exactly what the Lions offense needs at this point. Worst case scenario, they put up with him for the remainder of the season and then make a decision.

Terrelle Pryor Sr. – Washington Redskins

Prior (no pun intended) to the start of the 2017 regular season, I truly believed that by Week 8, we would be talking about Terrelle Pryor as one of the top 10 receivers in the league. It was not exactly a hot take as he was moving from the Cleveland Browns disaster at quarterback to the Washington Redskins and Kirk Cousins. There was no doubt that the former Buckeye would catch plenty of touchdowns from the former Spartan.

But that has not been the case and another change of scenery could be exactly what the doctor ordered for both Pryor and the Lions. There is no question about it that Pryor has the athleticism to be a top 10 receiver in the league, maybe he just needs a top 10 quarterback to throw to him. Matthew Stafford could be that guy.

Larry Fitzgerald – Arizona Cardinals

This one is interesting because Larry Fitzgerald has played his entire NFL career with the Arizona Cardinals and he is beloved by the Cardinals and their fan base. That being said, at 34-years-old, Fitzgerald is not getting any younger and now that his quarterback Carson Palmer is out with a broken arm, the chances of him seeing the playoffs this season is very slim.

Unless he is traded to the Lions!

Fitzgerald, who only has this one season remaining on his contract, could be the perfect stop gap for a Lions team that is in desperate need of a receiver.
