Another day, another high-profile commit for the University of Michigan football program. They’ve been raking them in as of late. On Thursday, it was 4-star linebacker Jordan Anthony (Bradenton, FL) out of the IMG Academy announcing his pledge to the Wolverines for 2017.

Anthony went into extreme detail on his decision to choose Michigan over a bevy of other programs that offered him. This comes via CampusInsiders, which you can read in its entirety by clicking on the link in the tweet above:
I am excited to take my next step as a player and student at the University of Michigan. The first time I visited campus, I was amazed. I got chills walking onto the field at The Big House.
The people I met there, from the coaching staff to the support staff to the assistant staff, we had a great time. We had fun. It just felt right. It just felt like a place I wanted to be.
It felt like family.
The way Coach Harbaugh motivates guys to play and fight for him is inspiring. And with the way our class is coming together, we can definitely be a force. I can’t wait to get in there and play for Coach Brown; we have such a good relationship.
The hard commit from the 6-foot, 220-pound Anthony rated 6th at the outside linebacker position nationally and 21st in the state of Florida, both rankings according to 247Sports, gives Michigan now 25 pledges for the class of 2017, a class that still ranks No. 4 nationally.
Anthony becomes the fifth prospect to commit to Michigan in just a little over a week. and seventh in the month of December:
- 4-star CB Ambry Thomas (Detroit MLK) – pledged 12/7
- 4-star WR Tarik Black (Cheshire, CT) – pledged 12/14
- 5-star WR Donovan Peoples-Jones (Detroit Cass Tech) – pledged 12/15
- 4-star C Cesar Ruiz (IMG Academy in Bradenton) – pledged 12/19
- 4-star DE Deron Irving-Bey (Flint Southwestern) – pledged 12/19
Anthony’s pledge also means that Michigan has earned a commit from six of their top 13 ‘most targeted‘ players, that also courtesy of 247Sports.
