The Michigan Wolverines made the decision this afternoon to dismiss defensive coordinator Don Brown after five years in Ann Arbor. During his final year with Michigan, the team defense yielded an average of 34.5 points and 434 yards per game.
However, the news came as a surprise to four-star linebacker Junior Colson, who had just signed a letter of intent with the Wolverines last Wednesday.
Colson, who is the No. 95 overall in 247Sports’ Composite ranking, was not pleased with Michigan’s decision.
“I was not pleased with the news about (Michigan) firing (Brown),” Colson said. “I didn’t know anything about it, but I already signed so there is nothing I can do.”
Does he plan on reneging on his letter of intent?
“I don’t know yet,” he responded.
There are certainly portions of the Michigan fanbase who felt this change was long overdue, but not everyone within the program is on board. Will Brown’s firing have a negative impact on future recruits?
