The Michigan State Spartans have built their current college football powerhouse off of the constant disrespect they receive nationally. Pundits and publications never seem to get the Spartans rankings, or the name of their head coach, correct.
One would think that after winning the Big Ten two out of the last three years, the Spartans would finally be getting their due. I mean, they did have a spot in the College football Playoff last year, and even though they got demolished by Alabama, there’s really no question that they deserved their spot.
However, in typical Spartan fashion, after finishing the season 12-2, the Spartans may be facing their peak of disrespect. Virtually nobody is picking them to win the Big Ten again, and while the Spartans have legitimate concerns and question marks on their depth chart, so do both Michigan and Ohio State, who are the popular picks to win the conference.
It looks like the Spartans will have another year of joyfully proving their detractors wrong. Here are five bold predictions for the team this year.
