1. Anquan Boldin
Anquan Boldin was arguably Quinn’s best free agent signing of 2016. The veteran was a vital member of Detroit’s offense, finishing with 67 receptions for 584 yards and a team-leading eight touchdowns. Boldin was a reliable and physical target for Matthew Stafford and was often a go-to guy on third downs and in the red zone. Per NBC Sports, Boldin converted 20 third down catches into first downs in 2016.
At 36, Boldin is nearing retirement. However, he has expressed interest in returning in 2017 for a 15th NFL season. The Lions should absolutely re-sign Boldin, as he clearly showed he can still be an impact player in the league. Considering the Lions struggled scoring touchdowns in the red zone, keeping Boldin as a red zone threat and reliable third down receiver could benefit the team.
