5 players who will have a breakout season for the Lions in 2015

I know what you are thinking, how does a rookie make this list? What is he breaking out from? Well, it’s my list so I can do what I want! All kidding aside, when the Lions drafted Laken Tomlinson in the first round I was a bit skeptical at first. I was not sure how drafting a guard in the first round made any sense. But after watching film, and doing more and more research, I have become very excited about what Tomlinson brings to the table.

The rookie guard did not give up a sack in his final two seasons at Duke, and though the NFL is a whole new ballgame, I feel Tomlinson can step in and make an immediate impact.

Matthew Stafford was sacked 45 times in 2014 and that has to change if the Lions want to have any chance of competing with the Green Bay Packers in the NFC North. Tomlinson will more than hold his own and will also be a big factor in the running game.

Above is a video highlighting Tomlinson during his senior season at Duke, specifically in the Blue Devils game against Kansas.
