4. Pontiac/Bloomfield/Auburn Hills area
The northern portion of Oakland County seems to be a prime spot for Detroit teams to go if they don’t wish to be in downtown.
The area around the Pontiac Silverdome and Palace of Auburn Hills would be a good spot considering much of the land is already there to start building. Bringing in another sport, building a soccer stadium around the area of the Palace would also possibly fill the void of the Pistons departing for downtown. Having another sports team in a prime location that is the northern part of suburban Detroit would create another sports center of interest and make the Pistons’ former location more sensible.
On top of that, most fans of a Detroit soccer team will presumably be from the Oakland and Macomb counties regardless of location. Making a team like that more accessible to their presumed fanbase simply makes sense.
