Boneheaded veteran mistakes
One of the main reasons for the Detroit Lions bringing in players like DT Haloti Ngata and WR Anquan Boldin was to help lead the team in big games. On Saturday night, both Ngata and Boldin did more to hurt the Lions than they did to help them win. Boldin was the main culprit as he picked up two unnecessary roughness penalties, while Ngata added one of his own. Those penalties hurt the Lions as they ended up leading to Seahawks points on the board.

In addition to Ngata and Boldin’s boneheaded penalties, Tavon Wilson was also flagged for a roughing-the-passer penalty on Seattle’s final touchdown drive of the game.
