5 reasons why the Detroit Lions could win it all in 2015

[tps_title]2 – The defense will dominate once again[/tps_title]

Ndamukong Suh and Nick Fairley are gone and with them went the chances of having a dominant defense in 2015, right?

Wrong!

Suh is one of the best defensive tackles in the NFL and he cannot be replaced. That being said, Mayhew did his best to fill the gap by acquiring Haloti Ngata, who is a great defensive tackle in his own right.

In addition to Ngata, the Lions traded up and drafted defensive tackle Gabe Wright out of Auburn. Wright is 6-foot-3, 300 pounds and should fit in nicely on the defensive line alongside Ngata.

When it comes to the defensive backfield, I look for cornerback Darius Slay to have a monster year. When the 2015 season is in the books Slay will be talked about as one of the best lockdown corners in the NFL.

The Lions defense may not end up ranked No. 2 like they did in 2014, but they will definitely come up big when they need to.
