5 Red Wings who could be moved at the trade deadline

Brendan Smith has been injured for much of this season, playing in only 24 games. However, he has improved his play this season and has been solid when healthy for the Red Wings.

Like Vanek, Smith will be an unrestricted free agent at season’s end and carries a cap hit of $2.75 million. Smith is physical and never shies away from a hit and is also an offensive-minded defenseman who can create scoring chances. Teams are always looking to add defensive depth for the playoffs, so Smith could receive a lot of interest around the trade deadline.
