Drew Miller is a veteran fourth-line grinder who knows his role and knows it well. Miller is great on the forecheck and an expert penalty killer. Since Miller and fellow veteran Steve Ott both play a similar role and are both pending unrestricted free agents, it makes sense for the Red Wings to move one of them.

Miller will draw interest from teams looking for veterans and especially from teams who struggle on the penalty kill (i.e. Chicago, Pittsburgh, Montreal).
