5 running backs who could replace Joique Bell

[tps_title]Wait until the NFL Draft and get a steal[/tps_title]

When it comes down to it, the free agents listed previously on this list may be out of the Lions price range. If that’s the case and Quinn still feels the need to upgrade at the running back position, waiting for the NFL Draft could be the way to go.

Now let’s get something straight, drafting a running back in the first round is NOT an option, regardless of which player is available. That being said, if the Lions front office determines the Abdullah/Riddick/Zenner combo will not be enough to get the job done, they could decide to jump on a running back in the 3rd or 4th round.

One running back who could help out the Lions is Alabama’s Kenyan Drake. Drake is 6-1, 210 pounds and complemented Heisman Trophy winner Derrick Henry in the Crimson Tide backfield. Drake was highly touted coming out of high school and could benefit an NFL team almost immediately if given the chance. Look for Drake to be drafted in the 3rd or 4th round, depending on how he does in the combine and workouts.

Other running backs who could be available in round four or later who could turn into something special include Kelvin Taylor out of Florida and C.J. Prosise from Notre Dame.
