6 Free agent goaltenders Detroit Red Wings GM Steve Yzerman should consider

On Thursday, Detroit Red Wings‘ GM Steve Yzerman met with the media and he made it double official that he will not be offering long-time Red Wings goaltender Jimmy Howard a contract for the 2020-21 season.

During the presser, Yzerman said he will be looking at available free agent goalies to replace Howard.

According to Helen St. James of the Detroit Free Press, there are 6 free agent goaltenders Yzerman should consider.

Jonathan Bernier enters next season as the presumptive no. 1, but there’s a stellar selection of goaltenders headed for free agency including Braden Holtby, Anton Khudobin, Robin Lehner, Thomas Greiss, Cam Talbot and, recently bought-out former Rangers goaltender Henrik Lundqvist.

In my opinion, there is almost no chance that Lundqvist would sign with the Red Wings as he will likely look to get in with a contender for the 2020-21 season. Look for Yzerman to ink a guy like Lehner or Greiss for the upcoming season.

Nation, which of these free agents do you think Steve Yzerman should pursue?
