7 potential free agents the Detroit Lions must re-sign

The offseason the Detroit Lions are currently facing could very well be the most important offseason in team history. Not only did the team have to hire a new general manager, which they did in Bob Quinn, but Quinn then had to decide the direction he wanted to take as far as the head coach goes. Now that we know Jim Caldwell has been retained as head coach, it is time for the Quinn to start making some very important decisions regarding the roster, which he has already started.

Managing an NFL roster in the offseason includes some very important decisions. One of those decisions includes cutting players, some because of performance and some because cap casualty reasons. Another important aspect of roster management includes re-signing players who are set to become free agents.

Here is a list of 7 potential free agents the Lions should re-sign if the price is right. We have listed them in order of least important to most important. Though, to be honest, the reason they are included on this list is because we believe each of them can play a role on the Lions in 2016.

Detroit Lions long snapper Don Muhlbach has been with the team for 12 seasons and there is no reason he will not be back for more. He is an extremely reliable long snapper and those are not always easy to find. Muhlbach made roughly $1 million in 2015 and the Lions should bring him back for a similar amount.
