On Sunday night news broke that both Alan Trammell and Jack Morris had been selected by the Modern Baseball Era committee as new members to the 2018 Hall of Fame class. The long-anticipated entrance of these two Tiger greats into the Hall finally became a reality.

On Monday, Morris addressed the media about his induction and became emotional when talking about his conversation with his wife.

Morris was a dominating post-season pitcher, the type of guy that you’d want on the hill for Game 7. He won three rings overall (84,91, 92) before hanging up the cleats. Why it took so long to induct him has left many scratching their heads; however, that is no longer the case.

To go along with his Hall of Fame induction, the Tigers also announced they would be honoring both inductees in August by retiring their numbers. A well-deserved honor for both Jack Morris and Alan Trammell — even if it did take a little too long.

That being said, things got a little bit better (a lot better if you are around 40-years-old like I am) for Tigers fans on Sunday night as both Alan Trammell and Jack Morris were elected into the Baseball Hall of Fame.
