When the former top ranked high school quarterback in the nation decides to transfer to a school like Michigan, people take notice, consequentially blowing up the internet. Yes, Shea Patterson’s decision is trending on twitter and it has everyone from Columbus to Ann Arbor talking about it. Players, coaches, and analyst around the country are talking about the big news.

Michigan players did not hide their thoughts on the matter. Freshman receiver Tarik Black already has advice for Shea.

Black had more to say, that appears to also be related to the transfer news.

Black’s message is an important one for the whole team. The addition of Patterson will create a ton of high-end and talented competition at the quarterback position. His commitment might not be the last Ole Miss player. One potential newcomer could be Ole Miss receiver Van Jefferson. So yeah, competition makes you better and Black is ready if need be.

Fellow incoming quarterback Joe Milton also tweeted his thoughts on the matter, showing his maturity and competitiveness.

Another highly-ranked incoming freshman for Michigan, Mustapha Muhammad, shared his excitement as well.

Michigan’s director of recruiting also appears to think Shea Patterson is a home run.

A certain school south of Ann Arbor took notice of the news too. A couple years of “Dwayne Haskins vs. Shea Patterson” would certainly be entertaining.

Haskins is a redshirt freshman for Ohio State and the likely heir apparent to J.T. Barrett for the Buckeyes moving forward. He entered “The Game” against Michigan this past season in relief of the injured Barrett. Haskins proceeded to engineer OSU to a come-from-behind win over the Wolverines in the season finale.

And notable college football analyst and personality (and noted Michigan/Harbaugh pundit) Paul Finebaum was sure to ignite Ann Arbor with his tweet regarding the matter.

As always expectations will be high for Harbaugh and Michigan, but will Shea Patterson be the one that finally accomplishes this? Only time will tell. And who knows how many of Patterson’s former Ole Miss teammates could accompany him. In addition to the aforementioned Van Jefferson, there are reports that upwards of seven players are interested in transferring to U-M.

One thing is for sure, most Michigan fans are probably sharing this feeling:
