The Detroit Lions snapped out of their mini funk, or so we think, with a victory on the road against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers last weekend, upping their record to 7-6 overall on the year. While the odds are absolutely not in their favor, they mathematically remain in the NFC playoff race.

A lot of things need to happen for Leo to make it consecutive playoff appearances. Obviously they have to take care of business the rest of the way out, beginning with a tilt at home against the division rival Chicago Bears. However, it could be a tall task based on the team’s latest injury report that was disclosed on Thursday.

It appears that Detroit will be minus to key starters up front on the offensive line.

Center Travis Swanson (concussion) and right tackle Rick Wagner (ankle) did not practice at all this week for the Lions, so it should not come as much surprise to see them ruled out for Saturday against the Bears.

Additionally, left guard T.J. Lang (foot) was in limited practice on Thursday after not practicing at all the two days prior. Reports are that Lang will try and give it a go though against Chicago.

With Swanson out, expect to see left guard Graham Glasgow to slide over and line up at center. Joe Dahl is the most likely candidate to assume Glasgow’s position. And Corey Robinson (foot), who participated in full practice on Thursday after being limited on Tuesday and Wednesday, is expected to fill in for Wagner at right tackle. Should all of this be the case, it will be the ninth different offensive line combination for the Lions this season.

Additionally, tackle Emmett Cleary was in full practice this week and he too is listed as questionable. On defense, the most notable name on the report is Ezekiel Ansah, who partook in limited practice all week. Detroit is currently tabbing him as questionable.

The injuries on the offensive line for offense could bode trouble against a Bears defensive front that has been a formidable unit all year. The last time these two played back on November 19, Chicago managed to sack Matthew Stafford three times. Two key members of that defensive line for the Bears, Eddie Goldman and Adrian Amos, are listed as questionable.
