In what has already been an interesting Major League Baseball offseason, another trade was made on Wednesday that can be added to the mix.

According to reports, the Tampa Bay Rays have traded third baseman Evan Longoria to the San Francisco Giants in exchange for Christian Arroyo, Denard Span, Matt Krook, and Stephen Woods.

Longoria, who is 32-years-old, has spent his entire career in the Tampa Bay organization. In 10 seasons, he has a career batting average of .270 while hitting 261 home runs and driving in 892 runs. His best three seasons happened to be his first three in MLB as he won the Rookie of the Year Award in 2008 and was named to the American League All-Star team in 2008, 2009, and 2010.

In 2017, Longoria won his third career Gold Glove award with the Rays. At the plate, he batted .261 with 20 home runs and 86 RBIs.

Christian Arroyo, who is 22-years-old, also plays third base. In 2017, his rookie season, he batted just .192 in 34 games with the Giants.

Denard Span, a 33-year-old outfielder, played 129 games for the Giants in 2017, batting .272 with 12 home runs and 43 RBIs.

Matt Krook is a 23-year-old pitcher who has not yet made his Major League Baseball debut. In 2017, he was 4-9 with a 5.12 ERA in 25 games with the High-A San Jose Giants of the California League.

Stephen Woods, a 22-year old pitcher, is also yet to make his Major League Baseball debut. In 2017, he was 6-7 with a 2.95 ERA in 23 starts with the Single-A Augusta GreenJackets of the South Atlantic League.

It will certainly be odd to watch Longoria play in a uniform other than the Rays uniform we have seen him in for so long.
