The Detroit Lions are 8-6 and with just two weeks remaining in the 2017 NFL regular season, they still have a chance at qualifying for playoffs. For that to happen, the Lions will need to win their final two games and then get some help.
The easiest and best chance of Detroit making the playoffs would be to beat Cincinnati and Green Bay and have the Atlanta Falcons lose their final two games of the season.
On Saturday, Lions wide receiver Golden Tate tweeted out his Christmas wish, which most Detroit fans probably agree with.

If the Lions win out and the Falcons lose out, Detroit would finish 10-6 and Atlanta would finish 9-7. Both teams finishing 10-6 would mean the Falcons would get the head to head tiebreaker since they defeated the Lions earlier in the season.

Unfortunately, the Atlanta Falcons held on for a 24-21 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Monday Night Football, lowering the Lions chances of getting into the NFL Playoffs.
You see, the Falcons (9-5) are the team directly ahead of the Lions in the NFC Standings and likely the only team Detroit really has a chance at catching for the final wild-card spot. According to FiveThirtyEight, the Lions now have a 14% chance of earning a playoff berth. That low percent would have been 38% had the Buccaneers taken care of business on their home field.
